Country

Estonia is the northernmost Baltic country. Bridging the old and the new, Tallinns medieval center is an eclectic mix of historical buildings and modern cafés with wireless internet. While in Estonia, we would recommend that you visit the rest of the Baltic region to the south, as well as Helsinki in Finland to the north and St. Petersburg and Moscow in Russia in the east. The international student organizations are very active at Tallinn University, so it is possible to join group excursions for travelling.

Accommodation and living expenses

Tallinn offers cheap dormitory housing for international students. The dormitory is located on Karu Street 17 on the main campus of Tallinn University – behind the main building of Tallinn University and in the city center. The 2011 rates are approximately € 100 a month for a shared room. As living costs are low in Estonia compared to Norway, it is feasible to rent a private flat for your stay in Tallinn. Average living expenses, not including accommodation, are approximately € 200-300 a month in Estonia.

The majority of the Estonian population speaks sufficient English. All three partner institutions offers language courses in the local languages.
