FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I get an Erasmus Mundus scholarship for this course?
A: No, we are very sorry, but there are no Erasmus Mundus scholarships available for the intake of 2012-14.  To help the students we have instead lowered the tuition fee to a very low level, thus enabling more students to follow the course even without the scholarship.

Q: What is the tuition fee to study at Dill?
A: The tuition is € 1,750 per year for EU-EEA students and €2,500 per year for third country students.

Q: Can I get additional funding from the DILL for extracurricular activities?
A: The DILL programme promotes excellence and encourages students to participate in conferences. Travelling and living expenses may be reimbursed if the students want to present either posters or papers at relevant conferences.

Q: How much will I have to spend on textbooks?
A: The majority of the curricula will be made available in electronic form via virtual learning environments. Do not expect to spend more than 150 € on textbooks per semester.

Q: What about VISA?
A: Once you are accepted into the programme, you will receive the necessary paperwork and guidelines for applying for VISA. European students within the Schengen Collaboration can apply for residency permit upon arrival in Norway.

Q: What about housing?
A: We would recommend that you apply for student housing at your first destination in Oslo, as the cost of living is high in Norway. Upon acceptance, the guidelines for applying will be sent to you. In Estonia cheap student housing is available, but here it is more feasible to rent private. In Italy the semester is relatively short, due to the internship in the end of the semester, which makes student housing a reasonable option.

Q: Can I attend other classes at my partner-institutions?
A: Yes. Aside from language classes, each institution offer a wide range of lectures on diverse subjects.

Q: How many classes will I attend on a weekly basis?
A: Usually classes are being taught twice a week during the programme, with extra days added for external lectures or workshops when needed.

Q: Can I work while studying on Dill?
A: Yes, but the DILL programme is considered to be a full time study and finding a balance between your studies and other activities can sometimes be hard.

Q: How do I apply?
A: Just fill out the application form found on this web site and press send. After your application has been received by the Dill administration, you will be given further information as to what documentation to send.

Q: What documentation should I send?
A: After you have applied online, you should prepare to send your transcript of records/diploma, proof of English proficiency, letters of recommendation and your CV. All documents must be in original or officially verified copies.

Q: Can I send my documents via e-mail?
A: No, all documents must be sent as hard copy; either through the post office or via a courier service. Documents sent online will not be accepted.

Q: I was accepted and after reading everything on this website, I still have a lot of unanswered questions. Where do I go to find out more?
A: Please feel free to contact any current or former DILL students for help and advice. We are a small group, but we do our best to help each other. After being admitted into the programme, the coordinator will give you contact information for current and former students. Most of us are active members of social networks.
